Our Story

In 2021, Footers Catering celebrated 40 years executing exceptional events in Colorado. The original catering company was founded in 1981 by Jimmy Lambatos as an off-shoot of the beloved Capitol Hill restaurant. In 2010, Jimmy’s son, Anthony, and Anthony’s wife, April, purchased the business and made the transition to a second-generation family business. 


Their passion for amazing events and an unprecedented company culture in their industry has elevated the Footers tradition to become a top business in Denver. Footers caters more than 600 events and feeds more than 75,000 guests each year. But what truly differentiates is the people. April and Anthony are committed to creating a great place to work because they understand that when their team loves what they do, they are just as excited about events as our clients are. 


When development around Footers’ previous North Denver building encouraged relocation, April and Anthony saw the silver lining. The relocation of Footers headquarters literally opened the doors for the creation of Social Capitol, a move that would create growth opportunities for their team and company. The development of Social Capitol coincided with a heavy-hearted year for the event industry as events were shut down due to COVID, but April and Anthony’s commitment to the future of the event industry was a shining light. The stunning new event venue with the heart of the Footers family has opened its doors to the community and events of all kinds. Social Capitol is destination for all who truly believe we are better together.

When owners, April and Anthony acquired the family catering business (Footers Catering) they dug deep to figure out how they were going to get from where they were, to where they wanted to go. While they were sure they had an intelligent, capable, and hard-working team, they knew that we weren’t going to get there without being really intentional with their future.

In order to attract a like-minded crew that would take Footers to the next level, they needed to be a place people wanted to work…more specifically, an AWESOME place to work. The secret sauce would be commitment to heart leadership and valuing people for more than the job they do.

Well, it worked! Or should we say, it’s working! Anthony quickly became a beloved resource for other catering companies struggling to taking their teams to the next level. Anthony and April felt a deep need to revolutionize the hospitality industry through intentional culture and heart leadership, and thus mibe was born. mibe is the acronym for part of the Footers Catering mission statement: Make It Better Everyday.
